CIVIC Concern is a non-partisan policy incubator, legislative watchdog, and advocate for ordinary Floridians.

CIVIC develops innovative policy proposals that build the middle class, grow our economy and improve our quality of life. We offer policy ideas that make good sense -- not just good sound bites.

Equally important, CIVIC is dedicated to providing Floridians with plain-language, quickly digestible discussions of the public policies that affect their daily lives and to empowering them to make their voices heard.

CIVIC is a 501(c)(3) organization, supported by the contributions of its members. The organization is guided by our Board of Advisors, all of whom are accomplished individuals with a strong commitment to civic involvement. The board is still growing, and we'll announce new members on the homepage as they join.

Mission

CIVIC Concern's mission is to bring renewed recognition to the Florida Constitution's overarching principle that all power is inherent in the people. We engage in the political process as an advocate of ordinary Floridians. We serve as an incubator of reasoned public policy and work to ensure government accountability. CIVIC provides Florida voters with valuable information and access, empowering them to demand government action.

The name CIVIC Concern reflects the organization's mission to empower citizens. We provide information and access that allow Floridians to be more involved in their government.

CIVIC represents the attributes we each must strive toward in order for our democracy to function properly, providing a shorthand guide to good citizenship:
