CIVIC Spotlight:
Save Duval Schools

Mar 30, 2009

In Jacksonville, a group of parents, educators, non-profits and business leaders have come together to create Save Duval Schools. The effort is a social networking campaign to educate the public about the impact of education budget cuts and give them the tools to get involved in demanding that students receive a high quality education.

Their interactive website provides a variety of information about the education budget crisis and gives visitors the chance to write a letter to the editor or email local legislators.

You can visit the site at www.SaveDuvalSchools.org They've already garnered some media attention, and you can read a recent Jacksonville Times-Union article to learn more.

In an occasional feature called "CIVIC Spotlight," CIVIC will highlight the activities of local organizations that are empowering citizens to get involved and make a difference in their communities.
