Legislative Leaders Postpone Special Session, Citing No Agreement on Action Plan

Sep 5, 2007

Legislative leaders announced today that they are postponing the special session scheduled to begin September 18. A lack of consensus between the House, Senate and Governor on how to make the required budget cuts is to blame.

In the letter released by Senate President Ken Pruitt and House Speaker Marco Rubio, they indicate that no "agreement on a framework for action" has been reached, but state that they "remain confident that an agreement will be reached and that we will have a fall session."
